Description of Opportunities:

ZOOTEENS

Interested in working with the public, children, interpreting carts, exhibits and helping with special, fun events?

Get an exciting new perspective of The Living Desert by applying to be a ZOOTEEN! Our High School Volunteer Program accepts a select number of high school students each season.  Prospective ZOOTEENS are invited to attend our ZOOTEEN Orientation.

ZOOTEENS must commit to working 12 hours per month plus volunteering at special events throughout the year, including one week-long session of Summer ZOOCAMP. This is a long-term, minimum one-year  program.

ZOOTEENS are teenagers with a special interest in zoo education, a unique and important role in environmental conservation and desert appreciation.
ZOOTEEN Orientation is generally in the fall with subsequent interviews. If selected you will be notified for training.

The Living Desert offers an online ZOOTEEN application to apply for volunteer service. For specific questions, please call Mafi Neckelmann at 760-346-5694, ext.2512 or send email to: mneckelmann@livingdesert.org
